After news about the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic hitting the Life Network, three are reports that Netflix is coming close to a deal for “Bubbles” another film about the life of the famed pop star. The story will be told from the perspective of Bubbles, Michael’s pet monkey.
The script, written by Isaac Adamson, will be set to stop-animation visuals and the film will be co-directed by Taika Waititi and Mark Gustafson. The deal is said to be near $20 million for worldwide rights.
The film is expected to resemble Charlie Kaufman’s Anomalisa (2015), utilizing stop-animation technology, specifically the form of replacement animation, which combines 3D printing and puppetry.
