The poster-child for bad rap (according to Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks on Everyday Struggle) Lil Yachty stopped by Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 radio show to drop some bars through the public air waves.
Of course, the two have a tumultuous past, with Flex throwing shade and calling out the 20-year-old rapper in the passed. But it seems he was impressed the Lil Boat showed up to the show to spit.
According to HipHopDX:
“At least I can say I did it, whereas I would have been at home wishing I did it,” Yachty said before dropping a two-minute plus freestyle over Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin’” instrumental.
Reactions to the freestyle were mixed. Of course, no one really expected Yachty to pull a Royce Da 5’9″ – he’s not a lyrical rapper. But the young’n did what he came to do and held his own.
