Legendary singer Aretha Franklin has cancelled her upcoming shows because of the recommendations of doctors. The shows include her scheduled performance at the New Orleans’ Jazz Festival.
In a statement the singer’s management team said “Aretha Franklin has been ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest completely for at least the next two months, She is extremely disappointed she cannot perform at this year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as she had expected and hoped to.”
Franklin recently stated that 2017 would be her last year touring, but then 2018 tour plans were announced. She’s next scheduled to perform in Boston and Toronto in June.
Aretha Franklin is turned 76 this year. She had a show planned on her birthday but that has also now been cancelled.
