Boston rapper and university student Jerry Spatch created a card game to help rappers become better freestylers. Spatch launched a kickstarter.com campaign and is halfway to his goal.
The game is called Vers and works by players drawing two cards – a theme card and a words card. The theme card describes what you must rap about and the words card give you three rhyming words you must use in the bars you spit.
A pledge of $25 will get you a full set of the 400 cards when it launches (expected in September 2017, assuming his Kickstarter project is fully funded).
HipHopDX reports:
Writing on the Kickstarter page, Spatch explained how he came up with the idea for Vers:
“I was tired of people in university saying I shouldn’t rap because it was unprofessional. Everywhere I went, when people heard about rap they’d think of a bunch of things that it wasn’t. So I made the game and it’s fun and silly and everyone can play it.”
