Future sure knows how to drop an end-of-year surprise.
He’s released a new joint, “Buy Love” and with it, a retro music video.
The song samples K-Ci & Jojo’s “All My Life.”
Directed by Aaron Klisman, the clip starts off as though it’s a VCR tape, with white tracking lines and a grainy feel. It then ends with the sound of a tape being ejected.
The video opens up like an old VCR tape before showing Future counting stacks, riding around in the car, and rapping some heavy auto-tuned bars to the camera. The actual footage has been filtered to appear grainy and old school and it’s giving us all the ’90s vibes. That heated backbeat and soft twinkling keys don’t hurt either in adding to the retro-laced mood of it all. Read more…

It’s been quite the year for Future. He’s done quite a number of features, even as the year winds down. He recently appeared with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin in the video for hit single “X” and joined his Summer Sixteen tourmate Drake for the video for new single “Used to This.” And then there’s that rumor of him working with Young Thug on a joint project.
