We recently reported that American Idol was looking to come back to the airwaves, but not on Fox. ABC was the most likely network, and now that it’s confirmed there are reports that Kelly Clarkson – former American Idol winner – is in talks to be a judge on the series re-boot.
The 3x Grammy winner was ABC’s first choice for judge and were very serious about signing Clarkson, but the singer’s camp has “no comment.” TMZ, on the other hand, reported that the singer’s team is busy clearing her schedule for the times the show is airing.
They also reported that instead of travelling from city-to-city for auditions like in the past iteration of the show, auditions would only be help at Disney World and Disney Land – on both coasts.
While none of the judges have yet been named for the show, speculation has swirled around the potential for Ryan Seacrest to return as host. The recently installed Live With Kelly and Ryan co-star was the face of the show for all 15 seasons, and on Monday morning (May 8) he made it seem like he might be open to finding time for it in his incredibly hectic schedule.
