Lil Yachty just earned his highest chart position as “Lil Boat 2” debuts at #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for March 24. The album had 64,000 equivalent album units for the week ending March 15. Yachty’s last album, Teenage Emotions, peaked at #4 on the same chart last year.

According to Billboard:

As Boat sets sail, three of its tracks debut on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs: “NBAYoungboat,” featuring NBA YoungBoy (No. 31); “66,” featuring Trippie Redd (No. 36); and “Boom!,” featuring Ugly God (No. 43).

Lil Boat’s project was surpassed by Logic’s latest offering “Bobby Tarantino II,” which debuted at #1 with 119,000 equivalent album units.

Lil Yachty made headlines around the time his album launched when he went to Funk Flex’s show on Hot97 to perform a freestyle.

Many commended the young rapper for giving it a try, while others likely rolled their eyes. The rapper has constantly been in the conversation about Rap’s generation gap and the decline of lyricism in recent years.
