Madonna is now defending her expletive-laden speech at the Women’s March on Saturday (January 21st) saying her words were “taken wildly out of context.”
At the Washington D.C. march, she said there had been times when she had thought “an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”
In a statement Sunday on Instagram, Madonna said she was trying to express there are two ways to respond to Donald Trump’s election: with hope or with outrage. She said she hopes to affect change “with love.” Read more…
In the statement on Instagram, she also said that she doesn’t condone violence and that people should listen to her speech again “in its entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context.”
Cable News Networks cut her off after she used expletives. MSNBC later apologized.
