Pussy Riot to Tour North America

The Russian feminist punk group that made headlines years ago for a controversial video that landed them in a Russian prison has announced a first-ever U.S./Canada tour. Pussy Riot will take to American stages for their “live music performance art” show starting in Chicago on March 6, 2018.

The show which features a mix of activist performance art and live music was previewed in December at a performance in Los Angeles. The tour will also see a show in Vancouver, Canada with new dates expected to be added as well.

According to SPIN:

Pussy Riot released their latest EP xxx in 2016; since then, they have put out videos for several songs from the record, including “Make America Great Again,” “Organs,” and “Straight Outta Vagina.” On the one-year anniversary of the 2016 election, the group released a one-off track “Police State,” with an accompanying video starring Chloë Sevigny.
