There has been a lot of huge news out of NAMM 2018 and now there’s something for the real drum-heads. Roland Musical Instruments announced the release of virtual versions of their legendary drum machines the TR-808 and TR-909. The software instruments will be available exclusively on Roland Cloud.
The virtual instruments are being made available for the first time in history and are complete reproductions of the vintage hardware modules. They will both be available as VST and AU plugins compatible with all DAWs starting in February of this year.
The 808 and 909 are legendary and very widely sought after in terms of sound. So much so that the “808” kick and snare has become a staple in many different styles of music.
Co-Director of Roland Virtual Sonics, Jeremy Soule, said “While it is humbling for us to look back on the music that has flowed from the 808 and 909 over the last 25 years, we are filled with anticipation for the music new producers will create with these additions to Roland Cloud in the future,”
