Soulja Boy found himself on the wrong side of the law after a police officer’s loaded weapon was found at his residence.
It’s perplexing how the weapon moved from the possession of a Huntington Beach Police Office (or vehicle) to Soulja Boy’s residence in Studio City which is an hour away.
The police obtained a warrant after receiving a tip. They later raided the rapper’s house and found the contraband.
But that’s not the only thing they found.
They also got their hands on a “military-style handgun”. One that is hardly suitable for the deer hunting in the surrounding Los Angeles Woods.
All this means that the rapper now faces two felony counts – one for each weapon, which could then result in a four-year prison term. A certain death for his music career. And a clear damper on the upcoming boxing match with Chris Brown.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the rapper now faces two felony counts (one for each weapon). Beyond that, there’s a misdemeanor charge for receiving stolen property, among other charges. All of that could result in a four-year prison term, which could bury Soulja Boy’s career.
Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, has a long history of run-ins with the cops. In 2011, Way received felony weapons and drug charges after a traffic incident in Georgia. Soulja Boy pled not guilty in an arraignment hearing on Monday. He now awaits a court date on February 28th.
