SZA threatening to quit music is not new. The “All The Stars” singer tweeted as much back in 2016. But in a new interview with Flaunth the singer revealed that her next album may be her last album. SZA, whose had an amazing debut with her album CTRL says she’s “still miserable.”
According to Billboard:
“My world got so much smaller so fast. I have so much to write about. I feel like I’m in a cage,” she told Flaunt. She continued, “I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that… because it’s going to be my last album” — but apparently she delivered the news with a smile, which suggested she may or may not be serious about quitting.
She also said that she believes God didn’t give her the Grammy this year (though she was nominated for several categories including best new artist) because if she got the award, she probably would have quit, saying she’d feel she had “nothing else to do.”
SZA will be releasing a deluxe version of CTRL this year with six additional songs on it.
