The Weeknd’s “The Hills” Hits 1 Billion Views

The Weeknd had a new milestone to celebrate this past weekend. The video for his song “The Hills” has hit a billion views.

With this achievement, he joins a roster of artists like Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, Taylor Swift & Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Pitbull, who all have videos with a billion views.

“The Hills” was the second single from his second album Beauty Behind the Madness. It peaked at the top spot on Billboard Hot 100 replacing his own single “Can’t Feel My Face”.

A music video for “The Hills” was released on May 27, 2015. It was directed by Grant Singer.

The video for The Weeknd’s other hit single “Can’t Feel My Face” is approaching the 750 million views mark, while the video for “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk has already cracked 500 million views, since being released in September of 2016. Read more…
