Twitter has partnered with Dick Clark Productions to live stream 3 more award shows.
First up will be the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2, followed by the Billboard Music Awards on May 21 and the American Music Awards in November.
The social media network will also live-stream the 7th annual Streamy Awards later this year.
This streaming agreement comes weeks after Twitter and DCP worked together to stream the Golden Globe Awards red-carpet pre-show on Jan. 8. The stream brought in 2.7 million viewers and was considered a “success,” Mike Mahan, president of Dick Clark Productions, said in a statement.
The red carpet pre-shows will feature exclusive interviews, and will integrate Twitter fan and celebrity show-related conversations. Questions sourced from Twitter will also enable fans to participate.
“Twitter is where conversations about award shows happen live,” said Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter. “After a successful collaboration with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions on our exclusive Golden Globes red carpet show, we’re excited to partner again with DCP to bring more live programming to Twitter.” Read more…
